Smugglers Cave - Kenmare Bay - As previously stated it’s not the easiest of sites to find but well worth the effort, the walk from the pier requires climbing over two stiles on arriving at the caves head for the second one that allows for easier entry, be sure to take a torch as the route through the cave while short and shallow looses all natural light around the center. Exiting the cave on the seaward side into a narrow valley which widens as it deepens, on the left is a beautiful wall which is home to crabs, jewel anemones, leopard spotted gobies, tompots, shrimp etc, beyond that the valley widens and the amount of kelp increases and eventually gives way to a muddy/sandy floor. An excellent dive which is great for photographers and best done at high tide for ease of access .
